Electrical fixtures can often be ornate or florid in style, however they may also have simpler lines if the design requires a less intrusive look.
Ceilings can look paneled, coffered, or opened beamed (which brings an added look.)
Wall colours may be vibrant and bright, but dark tones may be suitable if the cabinetry is a light colour or if there is plenty of natural light. The use of strong colours will make details stand out all the more.
Floors made of tile generate a more traditional look, although many homes today use hardwood as it is warmer to the touch; the choices are numerous. With new heat floor systems it is perhaps more appealing to choose tile for its longer lasting finish. .... Back
